On fabric furniture, it creates a clean outer layer without leaving adhesive behind. It is also useful for keeping drawers and cabinet doors closed without taping directly onto the finish.

Dollies: Moving Weight Without Creating Risk
Dollies reduce risk by reducing awkward lifting. A flat furniture dolly works well for heavy pieces that can roll across hard floors, while an upright hand truck helps with tall stacks of boxes, appliances, and other bulky items. Moving something on wheels is usually safer than dragging it or carrying its entire weight by hand. It also helps the crew move more steadily through the halls and into the truck.
The right dolly also helps protect the home itself. Less dragging means less damage to floors, thresholds, and door frames. It keeps heavy loads more stable and gives the movers better control. When a crew uses dollies well, the whole move feels smoother and less rushed.
How Stairs and Tight Spaces Get Handled
Stairs and narrow spaces need even more care. That is where communication matters as much as equipment. Large pieces should be angled before the carry starts, and both movers should already know who is guiding and who is controlling the weight. In older homes with tighter hallways, extra wall and corner protection can help prevent damage to the house.
A rushed carry through a stairwell is where many dents and gouges occur. Good movers do not wait until they are halfway up the stairs to figure out the angle. They stop, look at the path, and adjust before lifting. That slower start usually prevents a much bigger problem a few seconds later.
